If you can’t change it, laugh at it!

Does it ever feel like life is designed to trigger you? I was on my way to work to sign new paperwork after not having worked for several weeks. My bills had not stopped coming in however. I was on my way when an accident on the freeway delayed me enough to possibly make me late for our scheduled appointment.  I did the only thing I could and called the establishment to let them know.  The woman that answered said she thought maybe the owner had left already.  This may not be a huge deal if I was only travelling a half hour or so, but I drive one hour and forty five minutes one way to work.  A slight panic set in.  I was in a rush to make it there as close to 1:00pm as possible.  I was using my trusty waze app to guide me to the fastest route.  It took me down a road that was closed due to flooding damage that had occurred the week before.  Apparently no one from waze got the memo there was a road closure.  I drove in the opposite direction only to have my waze app continue to re-route to the same road that was closed.  I didn’t know my way around this town well.  I had no idea where I was or the best way to get where I was going.  At this point, I just started laughing.  I knew getting angry wasn’t going to change the outcome of anything and would only harm ME, not anyone else.  I laughed and laughed as there was nothing I could do to control the situation at this point.  I had done my best calling to communicate what was going on.  Laughter seemed to be the best option for this scene. Don’t worry…I did make it to work. The owner was still there to sign the paperwork and my bills got paid. The worst case scenarios we play in our heads typically never happen. It’s all a game anyway.  A game or illusion of separation.  I remember reading the book ‘The Four Agreements’ for the first time years ago.  The author Don Miguel Ruiz said things like, “If someone doesn’t want to be in your dream, don’t take offense.” I was mortified.  What does he mean DREAM??? This is REAL.  This is LIFE!!! I wanted to scream into the pages. Now I laugh at my seriousness.  On my journey I have learned that just when I think I have something figured out, my mind gets blown with a new perspective and way of viewing things.  Every time I think I know something I get new information that makes me question everything I thought I knew to be true.  The one thing I do know from my own experience is that as humans we tend to over complicate life.  Our brains want to analyze every outcome and decision to try and make sense of this reality.  Could it be as simple as whatever makes you JOYFUL and HAPPY, do MORE of it!!!  If someone doesn’t make you happy, re-write the script and have them exit stage left out of your dream.  If something you are doing doesn’t make you joyful and happy, STOP doing it or switch your perspective about it and start liking it! In all the UPS and DOWNS of everything I have experienced and created I have never been without the basic human needs of shelter and food.  Let go of the way you THINK your life should look like and FEEL your way into more JOY and BLISS. Thanks Don Miguel Ruiz for expanding my mind to this dream life reality.  It boils down to what seems simple, but can be a huge internal battle.  Allow your heart and your FEELINGS to guide you.  Your head is like a computer taking in and analyzing data.  It can deceive you.  Your heart is your soul.  It knows the path to your highest alignment.  If your heart sings when you are doing something, do MORE of it!!  It is an indication you are on the right path.  Same goes for people…if your heart sings around certain people, be around them more! If you do not enjoy the company of certain people, stay away!!  Release limiting beliefs and negative self-talk to open up and make room for more of what makes YOU happy!!  Lovingly release anything and anyone that is no longer serving your higher purpose. Annnnnd, if all those fail, start singing my favorite childhood song, it is sure to make you smile! “Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily…life is but a DREAM!”

Surviving PTSD

When I was leaving the hospital after a: few near death experiences, coma, and major surgery, the ICU nurse told me “don’t worry about dusting your house – dust is for leaving love messages for your family in” and “you will experience ptsd”. She also said “apparently you were meant to do something amazing with your life – that’s why you are still alive.” No pressure there!!

I would like to share my recovery with PTSD. I still trigger every now and again or get overwhelmed. I know I will never be the same as before but can function, enjoy life and be creative and productive again. In some ways I am actually better. Some things challenge me more now.

Anyways – Bach Flower Remedies saved my sanity. Rescue Remedy is sold in health food stores or online so if you want to try it right now, go get some! Personally, I prefer my own line of bach flower remedies named Faery Heart Elixirs available also online ( They are liquids made out of the vibration of plants, that you take under your tongue, but work emotionally, and energetically within minutes. They don’t effect medications and are good old mother nature LOVE! I could take them when I was freaking out, distraught, feeling overwhelmed and feel peaceful and calm the next moment. They are life support for the sensitive souls! Life saver for me and my family for sure!

Another thing that helped me gained control of my life, was working with a miraculous belief systems coach named Marie Martin from Kelowna, British Columbia. She has worked with many front line workers, 911 operators and others that have suffered with ptsd. She helped me clear subconsciously what was triggering me in a easy, loving, calm, and quick way. Once they were cleared, my triggers either went away or lessened to a manageable “normal” proportion. It is possible to roll through triggers quickly and easily.

Nutrition, healing, time and patience is always necessary for recovery. Family support is also a blessing! My family’s support and understanding made the hell I was in, a bit easier. Janet, my girlfriend, was really a saint! She repeated herself a million times because my short term memory was nonexistent in the beginning and I asked the same questions repeatedly. When I was in a full on freak out she would remain calm and not make eye contact (family joke) – wait for my outburst to end, and hope somehow we would all survive. PTSD is not easy on us, but our families get to go thru it right alongside us too! Remember to cut them a break! Try not to judge yourself so harshly. You are lucky to be alive. Be gentle with yourself! Show some love for the family walking by your side thru hell also!

For physical support in regaining my memory and straightening my body out after surgery, I went to a Body Talk practitioner named Richard Stuart from Calgary, Alberta. It took a few treatments to get the rest of my organs working together again and my brain function back but he was key for my continuing physical, emotional and energetic support. I did say brain function back! One night after a session it felt like a switch flipped on in my brain and I had some more back – best feeling ever for me! Body Talkers can get your body communicating with each other again which supports healing in a way like no other modality for me. I love it! Strongly recommend checking them out in an area near you.

PTSD survival and enjoying life again is possible. My intention was to share some huge keys for my own recovery process. Trust your intuition. The Universe is truly amazing and the power of connection and energy continues to blow my mind!

Once again this is another perfect example of the Universe working its Power and Magic and collectively gathering women who have the intention and purpose of living in truth and teaching others how to do the same by sharing their stories and their vulnerability!

When I was invited to be part of this book, I immediately knew intuitively the right publisher had found me and I trusted from the first email!

I had put the intention out in the universe about a year prior and it’s not by chance the opportunity showed up when it did!

I knew I would meet other authors and that they would be sharing their stories but I had know idea who!

When it was revealed who all my co-authors were I was blown away at the alignment the purpose and the power at all of these beautiful powerful women all uniquely different but energetically a strong similar vibration and intention!

My teaching to others is “Trusting your Intuition!”, and you can’t teach something until you have a strong practice with yourself first.

I am joyful at the trusting on this project! I don’t believe there are any coincidences and it is obvious and clear here, the energy behind this collaboration is for the greater good to inspire and raise the vibration of consciousness through sharing our own vulnerability and personal journeys!

Let your intuition always be in alignment with your truth and it will never guide you wrong!

5 Steps to Increasing Your Confidence

Ever feel like everyone you know has more confidence than you do?  You feel like you could crawl underneath the door and it’s not even open?

You are not the only one my friend. People all over the world has some confidence issues.  Whether it’s to talk to someone you want to go out with, reach out for friendship, develop business relationships, networking, or doing what you need to do to increase business. So, what do we do to increase our confidence?

Here are 5 things you can do today to increase your confidence:

  1. Posture – your posture tells the world a whole lot about you and your confidence. Remember your Mother telling you to sit straight and walk with your shoulders back.  Think of a person who walks in the room with their shoulders back, head held high and a smile on their face.  Now, think of a person who comes in the room with their shoulders rounded, head down and not smiling.  Which one looks more confident?  You are correct, the first one.  So, start with posture.
  2. Stop thinking of yourself so much. Sounds a bit harsh, but the more focus you have on yourself the more self conscious you will be.  Focus on the person you are talking with, be in the moment and be interested in the other person.
  3. Write out questions. If you are shy and don’t know what to say to people memorize some questions when the conversation goes to a stand still.  Especially if you are on a date and you are getting to know each other.
  4. Be yourself. You are unique and wonderfully made.  People want to know you not someone you think they want to know.  Don’t compare yourself to others.
  5. If it doesn’t come naturally to you at first, you will need to practice until you are comfortable.  Practice being around people.  Practice all the steps.

Whether you have some confidence or none, you can use these steps to increase your confidence.  There are so many more things you can do to increase your confidence, such as mindset and how you talk to yourself.  Give me a call for your complimentary discovery session to see how we can work together to increase your confidence.

Mindfulness Monday Quick Hit #14 ~ Stop Your Busy: And Become Present Just Like That

Are you one of those people who has “to get to just one more thing” – constantly?

How about needing to be on-the-go all the time out of habit? Well imagine what it would be like if you could just STOP.

Stop the busyness and bring in the ahhhhhhh…

Most of us spend our time running around doing, doing, doing.

And while sometimes that makes us feel productive, important and needed – it sure doesn’t help us to feel grounded, clear or calm.


Do You Ever Just Stop?

Does it ever occur to you to just stop? Even for a moment.

It’s interesting how stopping changes your perspective on what seems so urgent.

And what really is so urgent or critical that you can’t stop, take a deep breath and become present?

Let’s be honest. Gratefully, for most of us there are very few occasions in our day, when our habitual running is actually averting pure disaster.

And it goes without saying, that you’ll be considerably more focused and effective if you do stop for that deep breath.


Here’s How To Stop & Become Mindful

So the next time you find yourself rushing –  use it as the perfect opportunity to become present and mindful by following these quick steps: 

  1. STOP dead in your tracks.
  2. Take a deep breath.
  3. Really feelthat deep breath.
  4. Refocuson what’s in your field of vision.
  5. Groundyour feet.
  6. State to yourself  aloud “I am present”.
  7. Smile.(very important step)
  8. Move onto your next task.

The more often you’re able to practice STOPPING, the better you’ll feel.

Pretty easy. Can’t hurt to give it a try.

STOP CHASING YOUR ZEN…it’s right in front of you.

Do you think God/Spirit/Source is ever confused or overwhelmed? Do you think s/he/it gets worried and anxious about health, relationships, or finances? Then why in the world do we?

If we are indeed made in the image and likeness of God, as we’re told, then we, too, have a divine center, a peaceful calm at the core of our soul that is accessible anytime we stop and remember to connect.

The famous Zen saying, “Before Enlightenment chop wood, carry water; after Enlightenment, chop wood, carry water” is a simple reminder that we can transform any task, whether we love it or not, into a calming meditation, an opportunity to breathe, reflect and connect. Even the laundry. Or carpool. Or mundane business tasks.

Each day, as you wake, and before you begin the noisy, busy and possibly insane day that comes along with 21st century living, force yourself to be still.

You see, the most important tool to keep things moving (in the direction you want, most of the time) is to actually take a few minutes to be still. Let’s repeat that: In order to keep things MOVING you must be STILL. What in the world does that mean? It means get out of bed in the morning, sit somewhere, and practice being STILL and SILENT.

“Well what do I do during that time?” you may ask. NOTHING. Listen to the silence, to the space between your thoughts. “BUT WHY?” you may ask. BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE YOUR ANSWERS LIE. They do NOT lie in the busyness of your day. They do not lie in DOING more. Everything you’re looking for – ideas, decisions, clarity – will sort themselves out if you simply stop long enough to BE STILL and QUIET at the beginning of each day.

I encourage you to find your version of quiet and stillness, whether it’s simple breathing, formal meditation, or traditional prayer. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. Just do it. Your Zen is waiting.

No Balance = No Satisfaction, No Success

Tired of chasing success & satisfaction? Not sure what you’re doing wrong?

Get a handle on your mind, and you’re much closer to achieving your goals.

But that’s not all –

Your body is Command Central for your entire life.

And while we know we need it to exist – it literally supports us – often we either ignore or even abuse it. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “You’re a spiritual being in a human body,” and so your body (often called “the body temple”) enables your Spirit to exist and move freely through life. It provides you with not only needed energy to live your day powerfully, it’s also one of the best decision-making tools on the planet. Think about how many times you’ve said “It doesn’t feel right” or “Yes, that feels like a good idea.” The only place we actually feel things is within our bodies, which provides invaluable wisdom and knowledge. However, if you’re disconnected from it, you’ll miss these precious signs.

Some wonder how in the world Spirit can help in business. First of all, when we say “Spirit,” we’re referring to something you cannot see, that is larger than you, that you can access for support. To you that may be “God,” “Nature,” “Universal Intelligence,” “Jesus,” Buddha,” etc. What you call it does not matter; what matters is that you call upon it. Plugging into this Source provides access to intuition, resourcefulness, serendipity, flow and trust. It’s like connecting your electrical cord to the outlet in the wall; instantly you’re provided with power, energy, and flow.

When to Break the Rules

Where have you been following the rules – in life or in business – even though there’s a part of you that knows it’s not good for you?

What have you been doing that just doesn’t FEEL right, even if:

1. Everyone else is doing it or

2. Some highly respected authority tells you, you should?

For me, 2016 has been a year of rule breaking. Of shedding the yoke of indoctrination and walking away from “proven” systems that I’m told will lead me to my pot of gold.

See, the rules I was following made me feel like I was standing on a street corner, wearing a chicken suit, hawking my wares. To me, this whole internet marketing thing feels like it’s one big Kmart Blue Light Special.

Can anyone relate?

That’s how I’ve felt for a while now, especially when I’ve followed what the “experts” say I should do.

chickenSo instead, I’ve removed the shackles, turned within, and discovered what really lights me up and feels authentic and I’m building my business/life from THAT place instead. Now, don’t get me wrong – from time to time we need expert advice for things we actually don’t know how to do – but then we must take the crucial step of making sure those steps feel in alignment with who we are. Otherwise you’re just wearing the chicken suit.
